Who turns up
Based in Exeter, working the whole county from there

Why coverage of the whole county matters
The background is construction, through Hembury Contracting, a Devon contracting business. Jobs came from all over the county long before the drone did, which is most of the reason coverage of the whole of Devon, rather than just Exeter and the immediate area, was the plan from the start.
A lot of drone survey operators are based near a city and quietly prefer jobs close to home, because travel eats into the day. Being based in Exeter puts most of Devon inside a reasonable travel time, and the pricing is built around that rather than around avoiding it.
The aircraft and the qualifications are the same wherever the job is: a DJI Mavic 4 Pro for the standard survey work, a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced when thermal is needed, flown under an A2 Certificate of Competency and insured with Coverdrone for commercial operations.
The South West beyond Devon, into Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset, is covered where it makes sense as an extension of the same travel radius, which is why the town list on this site runs to the county border and a little beyond it.
On the record
Registrations, kit and cover
Devon based, county wide
Working from Exeter and covering the whole of Devon, plus the nearest towns across the Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset borders. Travel is inside the fixed price.
CAA registered
Operator ID and Flyer ID held, plus the A2 Certificate of Competency. Every flight is planned to the rules that apply to the site, wherever in the coverage area it is.
100 megapixel camera
A DJI Mavic 4 Pro with a Hasselblad camera and 6K video. The resolution that lets a survey stand off a building at a safe distance and still show real detail.
Insured with Coverdrone
Full commercial cover for the operation. Certificates go to managing agents, committees and insurers as a matter of course.
DJI Mavic 4 Pro
100 megapixel Hasselblad camera and 6K video. Close, usable detail from a safe standoff distance, wherever in the county the job is.
DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced
640 by 512 radiometric thermal camera alongside the visual one, carried on jobs where a leak or heat loss needs tracing rather than just photographing.
How we work
Three things this business will not do
Treat distance as someone else's problem
Travel across the county is priced in up front, not discovered after a quote has already been agreed. If a job is simply too far to reach on the day, that gets said plainly rather than squeezed in.
Claim to see through a roof
A flown survey shows the visible condition of the outside on the day it was flown. The report says what could not be assessed rather than quietly leaving it out.
Fly a job that will not work
Wrong wind, wrong light, wrong airspace: the survey moves. That applies the same way wherever in the county the job is booked.
